What to do
In this area spontaneously grows a rarity: the licorice.
During this tour in ebike you’ll learn all about the ancient local tradition of its processing.
The route is easy and flat. It runs in a ring between the natural reserve of the river Crati, citrus groves and beautiful beaches.
During the tour you can visit a laboratory where the licorice root is processed and you can taste different products based on licorice.
When
Spring is the best time to visit this area. It is the moment when the citrus trees bloom and it is possible to recognize the unforgettable Zagara flower’s scent. The summer is perfect to spend a sunny day by ebike towards the seaside.
Where
The Piana di Sibari is the largest plain in Calabria. It is located on the northern Ionian side of the region, it is the border between the Pollino and Sila massifs. It is crossed by the river Crati and its tributary Coscile, which both flow into the Ionian Sea.
